“GBS is all about its people” — I guess this couldn’t be more true.
GBS gave me a unique lens through which I could embrace diversity and differences. Through exceptional opportunities for global exposure, from two semester exchanges across different continents to study trips, as well as access to international case competitions and non-local work internships, I was able to broaden my perspective in a way that couldn’t be done through textbooks and lectures. The education enabled me to see the world through the lens of different cultures, communication styles, values, and working approaches. While these differences initially posed challenges, like conflicts and misunderstandings when we interact with people of different nationalities, I gradually learned to be more open-minded, appreciating the beauty in differences and possibilities that it could bring to the table. I believe this growth will be invaluable, especially when working with people and businesses from diverse backgrounds in the future.
Additionally, I truly cherish the friends, mentors and alumni I’ve met through the very close-knit GBS network. Despite everyone’s busy schedules, we still find opportunities to connect from time to time through events like the annual Global Business Forum and occasional cross-batch gatherings. From walking alongside with my batchmates as we navigated our career paths to receiving invaluable advice and even referral opportunities from numerous industry professionals within the network, the support I have received has been a strong pillar throughout my journey. “GBS is all about its people” — I guess this couldn’t be more true. 🙂
